As week 95 of the insanity ritual aka “the pandemic” passes into history, perhaps it’s time to think about a few fundamentals.
When I served in the IDF in the late 70’s of the last century, I got to know a few medics who served in some of the worst hot spots of the Israeli - Arab conflict. Several times, they’d had to deal with Lebanese fighters (Palestinian Muslim and/or Christian) who made it across the line to get treated by Israeli Army doctors. Doctors are decisive people and their decisions are guided by only one principle: the more severely wounded (or sick, as the case may be) get treated first. A doctor does not inquire about the patient’s nationality, religion, community status or any other external that is utterly unimportant when the victim in front of you is screaming in agony from a belly wound or a shredded limb. The patients’ fate after their medical treatment was finished was none of the doctors’ business. But while on the operation table or in the infirmary, only the injury mattered, not the person’s background.
The very expression “pandemic of the unvaccinated” - setting aside for a moment its debatable accuracy - is obscene. Catching a virus is not a moral transgression, but even if it were, it would have no bearing on treatment. “Pandemic of the unvaccinated” is a threat. It declares in simple terms: “You have done something really bad. It’s within my ability to punish you for it, and punish you I will, until you learn your lesson” Or, as the military saying of unknown provenance goes: “Beatings will continue until morale improves” It is incomprehensible that so many “liberal” Western societies have arrived at a juncture where this threat is freely used and punishments implemented. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Germany and many others now treat a sizeable section of their citizenry the way East Germany treated dissidents, although, if memory serves, even dissidents were not barred from supermarkets and buses. These egregious, disgusting regimes of Trudeau, Macron et al have put their own citizens in a chokehold, hoping to either subdue them or squeeze every last drop of liberty out of their lives until they rot in an endless house arrest, eating worms and drinking rain water. What this has to do with “public health” is anyone’s guess. But it most certainly has to do with a maniacal desire for total control, for emulating Chinese Communist methods, so beloved by these “leaders” and likely for assuaging their deep seated personal inadequacies. I recall that Pierre Elliot Trudeau, the current little fascist’s father, also had strong authoritarian tendencies. He was hated in Western Canada for imposing punishing tax structures on that region of the country, for example. He was seen once, passing through Alberta on the train, giving demonstrators the middle finger from behind his compartment window. Like his son, Trudeau Sr admired dictators of all kinds. But unlike his pinhead son, Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a highly intelligent individual. You could disagree with his policies (I did) but he was possessed of a formidable intellect and no one had an easy time debating him. Conversely, his son is a pitiable demi-wit who couldn’t debate himself out of a paper cup. So he makes up for it by dialing up the fascism. I know nothing of Macron’s or Ardern’s background but it wouldn’t surprise me to find daddy issues there too.
The Supreme Court of the United States has injected a good measure of normalcy into daily life by flatly rejecting the gross and unethical “vaccine mandate” for companies with 100 employees or more (for a while now I’ve played a scene in my mind where the boss of a company with 100 people calls one employee in and says: “Sorry, Jim, you’re fired” “But why boss?” “From now on, 99 is the magic number, my friend. Beyond my control!”) The SCOTUS decision makes any future federal mandates extremely unlikely and is a great step towards moral recovery. The idea that we could just keep on living in a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” kind of country is too horrific to contemplate. Our politicians will continue to talk and lecture and exhort and make no sense (in the immortal words of Mose Allison “Your mind is on vacation, but your mouth is working overtime”) but at least one weapon has been wrestled out of their hands.
Lastly, a personal note to end today’s piece. I am aghast (and saddened) at how much Jew-hate there is around us. For some reason, all manner of supremacists, conspiracy nuts and anti-Semites crawl out from under their rocks - some having been hidden in plain sight - and attach themselves to our fight: the fight for freedom from medical tyranny. I’ve had to block a few people on Twitter whom I had previously liked, admired even, until old anti-Semitic tropes popped up in their tweets or on their podcasts. I am not naming names here - I have addressed each issue directly to the person involved and that’s enough. But I do not want to be followed or follow anyone who uses expressions such as “Rothchild Schwab”, “the powerful Jewish lobby”, “Bill Gates and his Jewish buddies” (all real examples) You know what people mean when they say “Bobby Zimmerman donated to that project” (instead of “Bob Dylan”). I will not abide anti-Semitism in any form. That is a vow I made long ago and have renewed recently after my mother’s z”l passing. Her three years in the hell fires of Auschwitz were my education-by-proxy. Words lead to deeds. And in those years deeds led to mass murder. We had better keep that in mind as we hear our so-called leaders spew words of hate towards fellow citizens
Words touch souls, lighting our path through darkness, as yours and your Mother's life beacons freedom and hope.
No tyrant will ever be able to extinguish that flame, no matter how fragile it flickers.
TheRe is a shocking similarity in current rhetoric of unvaxxed with historical Rhetoric about groups including Jews, gays, Roma (Under Hitler) and kulaks, capitalists and enemies of the people (under Stalin and Mao). Never again, everyone said, but here we are. Today many of the unvaxxed are banned from holding a job, getting a university education, from dining and entertainment, from crossing borders, and most frighteningly, banned from receiving an organ transplant. WTH? What do the Inclusion police have to say about that?
