I don’t know where 2022 has gone. Where all the other years go, I guess: the oblivion of space/time. The only truly remarkable thing about the 12 months that have just passed in the blink of an eye is that the majority of the populace has found nothing remarkable about it. The masks are gone, right? Most of the mandates too (“though they were necessary and we supported them”) Many stores have torn down their filthy plexiglass barriers (“they were essential when the pandemic hit”) And on it goes. No one in my immediate circle talks about New Zealand making Covid dissent a crime, or about Canada crushing dissent under the hooves of Royal Canadian Mounted Police steeds, or about the continuing “state of emergency” in the United States that does not permit filthy, unvaccinated foreigners to enter (though the clean foreigners can help themselves to the American Dream via the Mexican “border”). Nope. No one talks about those things. It is what it is, they say. Putin must be defeated. The defeat of the Kremlin Beast is our first, second and third priority. To achieve that goal, we have recruited the Fearless Warrior of Kiev…pardon me…”Kyiv”, Generalissimo Minimalissimo Zelenskyyyyy and the well-oiled machine of the Ukrainian Army, greased by $85 billion of American taxpayer money. No one in my immediate circle asks why the defeat of the Kremlin Beast and the possible thermonuclear annihilation of the planet is America’s prime foreign policy goal. But hey, Putin’s high oil prices have now come down, thanks to the wise leadership in Washingtoon.
No one asks questions and that is great because it makes the passage of time so much more pleasant. It has made 2022 wholly unremarkable. Twitter - Schmitter. Kyiv - Schmyiv. Atom - Schmatom. Masking- schmasking. It’s all good, comrades.
I wish everyone a very Happy New Jeer in 2023. I am certain that CNN MSNBC FOX CDC FDA CIA FBI NIH will continue supplying high quality soma and we can continue to enjoy a year free of any important events, as we watch life march on into the wormhole of space/time
This is the way the world ends: not with a bang, not with a whimper, but into a vortex to oblivion.
Same here George. Nobody mentions any of it. Weird.
Happy New Year anyway my friend. xx
